Let It Eat You For Fun Drops Explosive Debut EP I Want To Fly The Plane
A genre-blending, self-produced introduction from the UK-based one-man project
Blending elements of post-hardcore, math-rock, post-rock, and mid-2000s emo, Let It Eat You For Fun is crashing onto the scene with the release of its debut EP, I Want To Fly The Plane – out today on all digital platforms and Bandcamp.
Clocking in at just over 12 minutes, the three-track instrumental EP delivers a frenetic yet somewhat focused experience, filled with pitch-shifted riffs, crunchy bass, the occasional dance-punk-inspired drum groove, and explosive climaxes. It’s a wild ride that fans of Glassjaw, And So I Watch You From Afar, Foals, Explosions in the Sky, Anberlin, Maybeshewill, and Giraffes? Giraffes! won’t want to miss.
Entirely self-produced, mixed, and mastered, I Want To Fly The Plane successfully captures the raw energy of its creator – just one fella, from the centre of the United Kingdom.
“I’ve always been toying with the idea of creating a post-rock project but it never really manifested in a way that I was happy with, until now,” says Aaron Richardson, the artist behind Let It Eat You For Fun. “I wanted to make something that brings a little bit of everything about music I love and as a result, here’s a weird little love letter to all the bands that shaped me.”
Let It Eat You For Fun continues to explore the fringes of guitar-based music, making it even harder to categorise in favour of experimentation and making music for the love of making music. I Want To Fly The Plane is a bold and exhilarating first step and just the start of things to come.
The EP is streaming now on all major platforms and Bandcamp.
